Yes it was oaky but what was most noticeable to me was the toasty nose. I normally hate Chardonnay but this one was actually pretty good. Mostly 20 vintages, we tasted their full line which included Chardonnay, Fume Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel.
